Someone in a panel discussion at the London Book Fair 2021 mentioned the concept of mirrors and windows, in the context of children’s stories. It refers to the proposition that stories can act as mirrors, in which the child sees themselves. They also at as windows, that is they help children to see the world and make sense of it.

What a lovely idea! It makes me almost inclined to write a children’s story myself!
